Perry King

Perry Firestone King ( born April 30, 1948 in Alliance, Ohio ) is an American actor.

Life

King, son of a physician, was born in Alliance, Ohio. His maternal grandfather was Maxwell Perkins, a well-known publisher for the publisher Charles Scribner's Sons. He is also distantly related to U.S. Senator William M. Evarts and Roger Sherman, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Kings most famous role was to see the Cody Allen in the detective series Riptide from 1983 to 1986. He was also in Melrose Place as Hayley Armstrong and in the TV movie I'll Take Manhattan in 1987. He also played Richard Williams on the NBC series Titans with Yasmine Bleeth. King has made guest appearances in several television series, including Hawaii Five-O, Spin City and Will & Grace. He also auditioned for the role of Han Solo in Star Wars, but ultimately went to Harrison Ford. However, he took over the role of Han Solo in the radio version of Star Wars and its two sequels. He also had an appearance in California 's Gold Huell Howsers, where he talked about his collection of motorcycles and sidecars. In 2004, King played the role of a fictional U.S. President Blake in the movie The Day After Tomorrow.
