Personal Printer Data Stream

Personal Printer Data Stream ( PPDS; German Personal Print data stream ) is a proprietary page description language for IBM printers. PPDS summarizes case both the content and the printer control commands together in a bidirectional communication protocol. PPDS are available in different, backward-compatible versions ( "Levels" ) since its launch in 1981.

PPDS has been replaced by the more modern protocols IPDS and PCL today (2010 version). It sporadically in existing applications (" legacy applications " ) is still used.

With the exception of a few Epson models no longer support your current printer of this protocol.
