Peruća Lake
The peruca Lake ( kroat. Perućko Jezero ) is an artificial lake near the town of Sinj in Croatia.
Just a few kilometers to its source flows of about 100 km long river Cetina in the peruca reservoir. The artificial lake is depending on water inflow 10 to 20 km ². The dam from bulk material was built in 1958 and is 67 meters high and 467 meters long. It is used to water supply and power generation.
During the war, Croatia, the dam was blown up in 1993 by Serb forces and thereby significantly damaged the building, but did not break completely.
On the lake, parts of the Winnetou films were shot ( free after Karl May ).
