Peter Behrens (musician)
Peter Behrens ( born September 4, 1947 in Sanderbusch ) is a German musician. He became known as the drummer of the band Trio.
Life
Peter Behrens is the illegitimate son of an American GI and was released from his birth mother for adoption. He was adopted by the family Behrens, where he grew up in Varel. After the elementary school graduation he made in Oldenburg training as a photographer. After the subsequent military service he earned from 1965 to 1968 a higher education degree and began a study to itself to be an elementary school teacher. In addition to music, he took while social sciences and German. However, the study of the following clerkship at the elementary school in Wilhelmshaven- Heppens he broke off.
In the aftermath Behrens tingelte as a drummer in pop and swing bands through northern Germany and also for half a year through Africa. 2013 Behrens published together with Klaus Marschall his autobiography The clown with the drum.
Peter Behrens suffered after the breakup of Trio a long period of drug addiction, was again unemployed and in financial trouble. He is now, after a period in which he received unemployment benefit II, retirees, and has only a few small gigs in pubs around him.
Behrens is single, has two children and lives in Wilhelmshaven.
