Peter Bellwood

Peter Stafford Bellwood ( * 1943 in the UK) is Professor of Archaeology at the Australian National University ( ANU) in Canberra.

Work

Bellwood studied at the University of Cambridge, graduated with a Master of Arts and the usual in the English-speaking PhD PhD from.

From 1967 to 1972 Bellwood was a lecturer in prehistory at the University of Auckland and moved in 1973 to the Australian National University, where he also taught until 1975 as a professor of prehistory. From 1976 to 1983 he worked there as a senior lecturer and was appointed in 1984 to associate professor. Finally, in 2000, he was transferred archeology professor in the Department. Since then, he directs the Archaeology School of Archaeology and Anthropology, Faculty of Arts at the Australian National University in Canberra.

1983 Bellwood was elected to the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
