Peter Gärdenfors

Bjorn Peter Gärdenfors ( born September 21, 1949) is a Swedish philosopher and Professor of Cognitive Science at the University of Lund. In 1974 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Group Decision Theory. As one of the world's most influential philosophers of Sweden, he is a member of Vitterhetsakademien and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In 1996 he received the Rausing price. In 2003 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina.

Research interests

In his research, Gärdenfors interested in philosophy of science, decision theory, amounted revision and non-monotonic logical inference.
