Peter Gloystein

Peter Gloystein ( born November 25, 1945 in Bremen ) is a German bank manager and politician ( CDU). As a banker he worked mainly for Commerzbank and from 2000 to 2002 as CEO at BHF- Bank in Frankfurt. He was a member from September 2004 until his resignation because of the " sparkling affair " in May 2005 as Mayor and Senator for Economics and Ports as well as senator for culture to the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. He is currently working as a business consultant.

Biography

Education, occupation, family

Gloystein was born in 1945 in Bremen. After graduating from college and training as a reserve officer ( last rank: reserve lieutenant ), he studied at the University of Hamburg business and was established in 1977 with a thesis on the promotion of industrial restructuring by funding instruments of the European Community ( as a book in 1978 under the title financing of industrial structural change by the EC published ) Dr. rer. pol doctorate.

From 1971 to 1975 he worked as a research officer at the HWWA Institute for Economic Research in Hamburg. Then he worked for WestLB in the investment banking division. From 1981 to 1999 he worked at Commerzbank AG. At first, he managed the financial planning of the central department coordination and planning in Frankfurt. From 1986, he joined the Stuttgart branch. In 1990 he was appointed as alternate member to the Board, a year later he was a regular member of the Board of Commerzbank AG. 1999 Gloystein was a regular member of the Board of BHF -BANK, also a member of the Executive Committee Europe, ING Group, Amsterdam, ordered. In 2000 he was Spokesman of the Board of BHF- Bank with the directly assigned responsibility for Controlling, credit risk management, legal, internal audit, corporate communications. Policy

In August 2004, it determined the CDU Bremen to succeed the ailing Senator Hartmut Perschau (CDU ) in the Senate Scherf III, and he was elected Mayor and Senator for Economics and Ports as well as senator for culture in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen on 8 September 2004.

Peter Gloystein is married and has two children.

" Champagne Affair " and resignation

2005 came Gloystein in the headlines after he had the audience Udo Oelschläger from the stage watered on May 11 at the opening of a wine festival in Bremen with champagne. In his resignation letter Gloystein regretted the incident; with his resignation he wanted to avoid a burden on the country and government. The retired Bremen 's Senator for Economics Peter Gloystein renounced his remaining salary claims totaling approximately 65,000 euros.

Current occupation

Gloystein returned to the economy. He has worked as a management consultant with a focus in the financial sector and in cultural management, to 2008 in Bremen, then in Dusseldorf. The advisory activities in business with corporate investments (M & A) was initially mainly as Advisory Director of the investment bank Lincoln International, Frankfurt / Chicago, then from 2012 as chairman of the German Mergers & Acquisitions AG, Dusseldorf. He is still active in the rating business as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the rating agency Scope, Berlin, in the Internet music field as director of classical portal of My Classic World GmbH, Berlin, and finally as an advisor to the private equity firm Allistro Capital GmbH, Frankfurt.

Volunteering Gloystein is active in various cultural institutions: Chairman of the Board of the Foundation of the culture project Hombroich, Neuss, Chairman of the Circle of Friends of the Teatro La Fenice, Berlin, and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Dusseldorf / Duisburg. By 2009 Gloystein was also in the Friends of the Bayreuth Festival active, first as a longtime member of the board of trustees, in 2009, as Chairman of the Board.
