Peter Ingham (bishop)

Peter William Ingham ( born January 19, 1941 in Sydney ) is Bishop of Wollongong.

Life

The Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal Norman Thomas Gilroy, ordained him a priest on July 18, 1964.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 24 May 1993 as Titular Bishop of Pudentiana and auxiliary bishop in Sydney. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal Edward Bede Clancy, on 12 July of the same year; Co-consecrators were James Patrick Carroll, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney, and Patrick Dougherty, Bishop of Bathurst.

On 6 June 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Wollongong and introduced into the office on July 25th of that year.
