Peter-Josef Schallberger

Peter -Josef sound Berger ( born July 19, 1932 in Ennetmoos, Nidwalden, † April 15, 2010 ) was a Swiss politician (CVP ).

Biography

Peter -Josef Berger sound was the son of Eduard sound Berger, the mayor of Ennetmoos. He attended the Agricultural College in Altdorf and took over in 1959 the farm of his father on Rotzberg.

Sound Berger chaired from 1960 to 1970 the Nidwaldner Farmers 'Association from 1974 to 1995 he was a committee member of the Swiss Farmers' Association from 1988 to 2003, the Swiss Group for Mountain Regions (since 2003 Honorary Member ). From 1977 to 1979 he was also Innerschweizer Bauer Landammann.

He was 1964-1969 school cashier (Member of the Board of Education ) in Ennetmoos. He was also from 1966 to 1970 criminal judge. His political career began as representatives of the CVP in 1968 with the election of the mayor of Ennetmoos, an office which he held until 1984. In 1970 he was elected a member of the district administrator of the canton of Nidwalden and belonged to this until 1990. Subsequently, he was elected in 1990 as the successor of Robert Zumbühl the representative of the canton of Nidwalden in the Senate, where he served until 1999. During his membership he was also a member and at times President of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy ( UREK ). Successor in the Senate was Marianne Slongo.
