Peter Nogly

Peter " oak " Nogly ( born January 14, 1947 in Lübeck- Travemünde ) is a former German football player.

He played from 1969 to 1980 as a defensive player with the Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga (320 games, 38 goals). By 1976 he HSV DFB Cup winner, 1977 winner of the European Cup Winners' Cup and 1979 German Masters.

Nogly wore in 1977 four times the jersey of the German national football team and was a member of the squad that was in Belgrade after the defeat on penalties to Czechoslovakia Vice European Champion 1976.

Career

Hamburger SV 1969-1980

In 1969, Nogly together with Siegfried Beyer of the North regional league team 1 FC Phönix Lübeck to Hamburg SV. While Beyer could not prevail in the Bundesliga, Nogly rose to become an indispensable part of the HSV- defense. In 1976, the HSV runner and won the DFB-Pokal in 1976 with a 2-0 against 1 FC Kaiserslautern, where Nogly scored the goal to make it 1-0. The HSV was now represented in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 1976/77 season. In this European competition Nogly confirmed his reputation as an oak in defense. Hamburger SV won the cup against the Belgian defending champion RSC Anderlecht.

It has won the title in the Bundesliga in 1979, moved into the final of the European Cup champion in 1980 and also the runner-up in the Bundesliga could be achieved in 1980. So ended Peter Nogly 1980 his successful career at Hamburger SV.

National

Despite an insert in the U -23 already in 1971 against Albania failed Nogly to Wolfgang Weber, Klaus Fichtel and Georg Schwarz Beck to come by. In 1976 he was part of the EM squad in Yugoslavia. It was only on February 23, 1977 denied Nogly in a 0-1 defeat against France in Paris his debut in the national team. This was followed by only three other vocations.
