Peter P. Mahoney

Peter Paul Mahoney ( born June 25, 1848 in New York City; † March 27, 1889 in Washington DC ) was an American politician. Between 1885 and 1889 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Peter Paul Mahoney was born about two years after the outbreak of the Mexican - American War in New York City and grew up there. During this time he visited the community schools. He then went on for several years after clothing shops. He moved to the then still independent city of Brooklyn, where he followed the trade in spirits. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1884 Mahoney was in the fourth electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Felix Campbell on March 4, 1885. Since he gave up for reelection in 1886, he retired after March 3, 1887 from the Congress. Mahoney ill during the inauguration ceremony of President Benjamin Harrison on March 4, 1889 and passed away on hard March 27, 1889 in Washington DC His body was interred in the Calvary Cemetery in Long Iceland City ( Queens ).
