Peter Voser

Peter Voser ( born August 29, 1958 in Baden ) is a Swiss manager. He was from 1 July 2009 until 1 January 2014 Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of mineral oil and natural gas company Royal Dutch Shell.

Life

Voser grew up in Neuenhof and Würenlos on in the canton of Aargau, attended school in Baden. After a commercial apprenticeship, he graduated from the HWV Zurich, the predecessor school of the School of Management and Law. Between 1982 and 2002, he held various positions at Royal Dutch Shell. From 2002 to 2004 Voser was Chief Financial Officer ( CFO) of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB). In this capacity he was heavily involved in the turnaround of the ailing ABB. As of 2004, Voser was Chief Financial Officer of Royal Dutch Shell. On 1 July 2009 he released Jeroen van der Veer as CEO of Royal Dutch Shell in The Hague. As of January 1, 2014, he resigned as CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, because he wanted to have more time for his family and for himself in private life. He returned to Switzerland and stays until end of March 2014 employed by Shell Switzerland. Successor as CEO was Ben van Beurden.

From 2005 to 2010 was a member of the Board of Directors of UBS Voser. In 2011 he was elected to the Board of Directors of Roche. He is a member of the Board of St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies, on 3 September 2013, was the successor to Josef Ackermann in the function of the Board of Trustees president.

With an annual salary of nearly 15 million euros, he was, according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung in 2009, the bestverdienende CEO Europe.

Voser is married and has two daughters and a son. He lives in the Aargau Widen.
