Petr Duchoň

Petr Duchoň ( born September 6, 1956 in Brno ) is a Czech politician and since 2004 a member of the European Parliament for the Občanská demokratická strana, as a member of the Group of the European People's Party and European Democrats.

Duchoň studied physics at the Masaryk University in Brno. He then completed a postgraduate course in vacuum technology at the Technical University CTU Prague and studying in Heidelberg.

Duchoňs political career began as deputy mayor of the Brno district Bystrc. Later he was elected for the Občanská demokratická strana in the Municipal Corporation of Brno. 1998 to 2004 he was finally Lord Mayor of Brno.

2004 Duchoň Czech Republic was a Member of Parliament in the wake of EU accession.
