Petr Rada

Petr Rada (August 21, 1958 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Rada played from 1979 to 1988 at Dukla Prague, then he moved to Fortuna Dusseldorf. 1990/91 he played for Rot-Weiss Essen, already in February 1991 but returned back to Dukla Prague.

In May 1991, he moved for a year to Toronto Blizzard. In 1992, he played half a year for the SSV Jahn Regensburg, then one year for Chmel Blšany. In 1993 he returned to Düsseldorf Fortuna and stayed for two years. After the 1995/96 season, in which he played for Bohemians Prague, Rada ended his career.

For the Czechoslovakian national soccer team Rada made ​​eleven games in which he scored two goals.

Coaching career

Rada's coaching career began in 1996/97 as an assistant at Fortuna Dusseldorf. 1997/98 he worked in this position for Slavia Prague. From the 25th until Matchday season he was head coach, but returned for the new season 1998/99 back into second place. Now the same time he also worked as an assistant with the Czech national team.

2000/ 01 he got his first real opportunity as the main responsible coach at FK Teplice, but was released after the 19th match day, when the team was on the 4th Place. 2001/ 02 he coached Viktoria Plzen. Gameday On the 12th of the season 2003/ 04 he took over the FK Jablonec. In addition, he was the 2006/ 07 also assistant to the head coach Karel Brückner. In the 2007 /08 season Rada was again at FK Teplice as head coach operates.

On 17 July 2008 the Czech Football Association Rada appointed as the new coach of the senior national team. Rada thus came over from Karel Brückner, who did not renew his contract after the 2008 European Championships. On 8 April 2009 he was dismissed after poor results in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.
