Petro Herkulan Malchuk

Petro Herkulan Maltschuk OFM (Ukrainian Петро Геркуліан Мальчук; * July 7, 1965 in Slobozia- Rascov, Moldova) is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kiev.

Life

Petro Herkulan Malchuk received on 7 June 1992, the ordination through January Olszanski MIC, Bishop of Kamyanets- Podilskyi, and joined the Congregation of the Franciscan. In 1993 he passed the profession.

Pope Benedict XVI. 2008 appointed him titular bishop of Media and appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Southeast Ukrainian Odessa -Simferopol. He received his episcopal consecration on 3 May 2008 Cardinal Marian Jaworski, Archbishop of Lviv; Archbishop Ivan Jurkovic were co-consecrators, Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine, and Bronislaw Bernacki, Bishop of Odessa -Simferopol.

On June 15, 2011 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. with a personal title of archbishop ( " ad personam " ) to the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese of Kyiv - Zhytomyr. The inauguration of the St. Andrew's Church (Kiev ) was the first since 1680 in the Ukrainian capital Kiev itself; Malchuk also is the first chief shepherd of the diocese, who holds the title of archbishop.
