Name

The name of the genus probably comes from a speech of Cicero, entitled Pro Rege Deiotaro (Latin for " speech on behalf of King Deiotaros " ): Phidippus was a physician and a slave of the king. Literally translated the ancient Greek name " of the horses spared ".
