Phil Jimenez

Philip " Phil" Jimenez ( born July 12, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is an American cartoonist and author.

Life and work

Jimenez grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County before studying at the New York School of Visual Arts Design. After completing his studies he began in 1991 as a professional cartoonist for the publisher DC Comics to work. His debut work there was the four-part mini-series War of the Gods.

There followed various works as a guest artist on shows like Batman, miniseries like Tempest (1996 ), JLA / Titans (1999) and Infinite Crisis ( 2006 ), and finally from 2000 to 2003 a three-year run at the venerable series Wonder Woman which he wrote both and recorded.

For Marvel Comics Jimenez drew series like Spider -Man and X -Men. His work on Spiderman Jimenez also gave a commitment as a " hand double" in the movie Spider -Man, in which he stood in for the lead actor Toby Maguire in that scene, in this his Spiderman costume designs by fast -fingered character strokes.

The popularity of Jimenez 's work procured him, among other things compliance in the form of articles in influential art and entertainment magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, The Advocate and Instinct and Out.
