Metropolitan Filaret (White Russian Мітрапаліт Філарэт Вахрамееў, Russian Митрополит Кирилл Вахромеев ), born Kirill Warfolomejewitsch Wachromejew (White Russian Кірыл Варфаламеевіч Вахрамееў, Russian Кирилл Варфоломеевич Вахромеев ) ( born March 21, 1935 in Moscow), the Russian Orthodox is Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus; Metropolitan of Minsk and Sluzk ( to 25 December 2013).

Life and work

Filaret grew up in the family of an employee. He attended middle school and in parallel, a music school. After he graduated in 1957 his study of Orthodox theology at the Moscow Theological Seminary and in 1961 received his doctorate at the Moscow Theological Academy as a doctor of theology. In 1959, he was - while still studying - was added to the monk's state. As a teacher at the Moscow Theological Academy, he was ordained priest on 14 December 1961. The Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Sluzk has withdrawn his candidacy for the Patriarch office in January 2009 at the National Church Assembly of the Russian Orthodox Church.
