Philharmonischer Chor München

The Munich Philharmonic Choir in 1895 was founded by Franz Kaim, founder of the Munich Philharmonic. Since 1996, Andreas Herrmann led to his repertoire of baroque oratorios, a cappella and choral literature to concert operas and large choral works of the 20th century extends. It includes all standard, as well as numerous lesser-known works of sacred and secular concert literature of the past four centuries. The choir was and is regularly conducted by prominent conductors such as Gustav Mahler, Hans Pfitzner, Krzysztof Penderecki, Rudolf Kempe, Karl Richter, Herbert von Karajan, Sergiu Celibidache, Carlo Maria Giulini, Seiji Ozawa, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, James Levine and Christian Thielemann. It occurs in concert thickness of about one hundred members, in addition to his appearances with the Munich Philharmonic as a guest choir at home and abroad. On board the choir with all the major labels ( German Grammophon, EMI, Sony) is documented.
