Philip Hunt, Baron Hunt of Kings Heath

Philip Alexander Hunt, Baron Hunt of Kings Heath ( born May 19, 1949) is a British politician.

Life

He attended Oxford High School and Oxford School and studied at Leeds University until 1970. He graduated with a Bachelor in Political Science from the field. He is married to Selina Stewart and has two daughters and three sons.

In 1997 he was appointed as Baron Hunt of Kings Heath, of Birmingham in the County of West Midlands to a Life Peer.

Policy

Philip Hunt was 1973-1979 Member of the City Council of Oxford and from 1980 to 1982 in Birmingham.

He belonged to the government of Tony Blair as Parliamentary Secretary in the Department of Health until he resigned in protest against the Iraq policy of the government on 18 March 2003. In the headlines he also came when his 14 year old son took part in an anti - war rally in Birmingham in March 2003.
