Philip II, Count of Schaumburg-Lippe

Philip II Ernst ( born July 5, 1723 in Rinteln, † February 13, 1787 in Biickeburg ) was 1777-1787 Count of Schaumburg -Lippe.

Life

He was the son of Count Friedrich Ernst of Lippe- Alverdissen (1694-1777) and his wife Elisabeth of Philippine Friesenhausen ( 1696-1764 ). 1777 joined Ernst Philip II succeeded his uncle after he had died without descendants.

In 1756, he married his first wife in Weimar Princess Ernestine Albertine of Saxe- Weimar ( 1722-1769 ), the daughter of Duke Ernst August of Saxe- Weimar -Eisenach and his wife Eleonore Wilhelmine of Anhalt- Köthen. The marriage produced four children: Clemens August Ernst ( * / † 1757), Karl Wilhelm Friedrich ( 1759-1780 ), Georg Karl Friedrich ( 1760-1776 ) and Antoinette Friederike ( 1762-1777 ).

His second wife, the Count married in 1780 in Philip Thal ( district Hersfeld ) Princess Juliane Wilhelmine Luise of Hesse- Philippsthal (* 1761, † 1799), daughter of the Landgrave William of Hesse - Philippsthal and his wife Ulrike Eleonore of Hesse- Philippsthal - Barchfeld.
