Philip Norton, Baron Norton of Louth

Philip Norton, Baron Norton of Louth, of Louth in the County of Lincolnshire FRSA ( born March 5, in Louth, Lincolnshire, 1951 ) is a British political scientist, university teacher and politician of the Conservative Party, which since 1998 as a life peer member of the House of Lords and is regarded as one of the leading specialists for the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Life

After schooling Norton holds a degree in political science and was after graduating first 1977-1982 Lecturer of Political Science at the University of Hull, then Senior Lecturer and finally between 1984 and 1986 there Reader of Political Science. In 1986, he became the youngest political scientists in the UK, a professor of political science at the University of Hull and teaching ever since. Since 1992 he is also director of the Center for Studies of the legislature at the University of Hull.
