Philip VI, Count of Waldeck

Philip VI. (* October 4, 1551; † November 9, 1579 in Darmstadt) was a canon in Strasbourg and Count of Waldeck to Landau.

Life

He was the first son of the marriage of John I and Anna to the lip. Together with his younger brother Franz III. he studied until 1569 at the University of Marburg. His uncle with the same name had renounced in his favor in 1567 on his position as canon in Strasbourg. He was, however, even after the death of his father in 1567 sovereign in the part Waldeck inherited from his father. He resided in Arolsen. He was buried in the town church in Darmstadt. His mother also had him build there an epitaph.
