Philip VII, Count of Waldeck

Philip VII of Waldeck- Wildungen (* November 25, 1613 in Old Wildungen, X February 24, 1645 in Tábor in Bohemia) was the second but eldest surviving son of Count Christian von Waldeck- Wildungen ( 1585-1637 ) and its wife Elisabeth of Nassau- Siegen ( 1584-1661 ).

Philipp VII followed from 1638 succeeded his father as Count of Waldeck Wildungen. His younger brother Johann (1623-1668) was as John II, Count of Waldeck to Landau.

Marriage and issue

He was married to Anna Katharina of Sayn -Wittgenstein (* 1610, † December 1, 1650 ). The couple had the following children:

  • Christian Ludwig (* July 29, 1635, † December 12, 1706 ), Count of Waldeck- Wildungen; ∞ 1 Anna Elisabeth of Rappoltstein ( 1644-1678 ), ∞ 2 Johanette of Nassau- Idstein ( 1657-1733 )
  • Josiah II (* July 31, 1636, X July 16, 1669 at the siege of Candia ); ∞ Wilhelmine of Nassau- Siegen ( † 1707)
  • Juliane Elisabeth ( * August 1, 1637, † March 20, 1707 ); ∞ January 27, 1660 Wolrad Heinrich of Waldeck -Eisenberg ( 1642-1664 )
  • Anna Sophie ( born January 1, 1639 † October 3, 1646 )
  • Johanna ( born September 30, 1639 † October 2, 1639 )
