Philip W. Anderson (editor)

Philip William Anderson (* June 23, 1915, † March 27, 1980 in Granada Hills, California ) was an American editor.

Life

Anderson began his career as an editor in 1939. Until 1946, he was only involved in short films. Then followed a multi-year break in which he was involved in any production. From 1955 to 1971, including Anderson was active as an editor in particular cinema films. Overall, he was involved in more than 60 productions.

Anderson was nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Editing. The first time in 1957 along with his colleagues William Hornbeck and Fred Bohanan for the film giants, a year later was followed by a second nomination for Sayonara along with Arthur P.
