Philippe Cavoret

Philippe Cavoret ( born January 11, 1968 in Aix -les- Bains ) is a French former Skeleton driver.

Philippe Cavoret began in 1992 with the sport of skeleton and was trained by J. Simian. The water-ski instructor lives in Aix -les- Bains. Since the mid- 1990s Cavoret is traveling internationally. At his first World Cup in 1994, he took part in Altenberg, finishing in 32nd place. In March 1995, he became the 24th in Lillehammer first skeleton World Cup points. For the first time in the top ten, he came in December 1997 as the eighth in La Plagne. In 2002 he started for the first time at the Olympic Winter Games, where since 1948 again competitions were held in the sport of skeleton for the first time. In Salt Lake City, he finished 17th place. In February 2003 he won his only World Cup in Altenberg. Cavorets best result at a World Championship, he reached in 2003 in Nagano in seventh. A place better he was at the same place seventh at the 2004 European Championships in Altenberg, 2005. Also at the World Championships in 2004 and 2005 he reached good results with the Eighth and Seventh rank. His last great race denied the Frenchman at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, where he finished in 14th place. Cavoret was one of the few athletes who participated twice in the Olympic competitions in the sport of skeleton. Between 1999 and 2006 Cavoret won the title six times by the French master, 1998 and 2007, he won silver. In 1997 he finished third.
