Philippe Christanval

Philippe Charles Lucien Christanval ( born August 31, 1978 in Paris ) is a French former football player.

Career

The first club of Christanval was I.N.F. et Sarcelles, which he left in 1994 the direction of AS Monaco. In 2001 the Frenchman for approximately € 17 million to FC Barcelona. When he came there in his first season still used regularly, he was thrown back in his second season by injuries and could only four league games contest in the starting lineup. From 2003 to 2005 he was at Olympique Marseille under contract. Here he was, on his arrival nor captain, stopped early due to injury, came in the first year only 13 league games and in the second year, he was seconded to the second team due to its high content. In 2005 he moved to FC Fulham. The injury woes pursued Christanval even at this club. In his first two seasons, he has played more regularly, but in his third season 2007/ 08 he could only deny a league match as a substitute. As Fulham contract after this season did not lengthen and he could not find a new club to Christanval decided at the age of 30 years to finish his career.

Christanval played in the period from 2000 to 2002 five times in the French national football team.
