Philippe Jacquin

Philippe Jacquin ( born January 22, 1942 in Donville -les- Bains, Department Manche; † 28 September 2002 in Lyon, ) was a French anthropologist at the University of Lyon II Lumiere.

Life

Jacquin was a historian, ethnologist and anthropologist, but above all a connoisseur of the American West and the indigenous population living there. He had a violent death after he had returned from a research trip to the Indians. His 20 books on North America are considered standard works for understanding the history of Native Americans. You will cover areas as well as the mixing of cultures and the conquest of the Wild West.

Jacquin has participated in many programs at France Culture and received various awards.
