Phoebe Ephron

Phoebe Ephron ( born January 26, 1914 in New York City as Phoebe Wolkind, † October 13, 1971 ibid ) was an American screenwriter.

Life

1964 Ephron has been nominated along with Richard L. Breen and Henry Ephron for their work on Captain Newman for an Oscar in the category " Best Adapted Screenplay ".

Phoebe Wolkind was born in 1914 as the daughter of Louis and Kate Wolkind. She attended James Monroe High School and, after the completion of the Hunter College. There she met her future husband in 1933 Henry Ephron know. Together, Phoebe and Henry Ephron wrote plays and screenplays. The couple had four children. The eldest daughter was also successful screenwriter and film director Nora Ephron. Delia Ephron is also active as a screenwriter.
