phpMyAdmin

PhpMyAdmin is a free PHP application to the administration of MySQL databases. Administration is performed through HTTP with a browser. Therefore, databases on external computers can be managed via a network connection or via the Internet. No knowledge of SQL is required for use of the program.

PhpMyAdmin is licensed under the GNU General Public License and is also included in many Linux distributions. There are currently 71 languages ​​supported, with the translation depending on the language is more or less complete.

History

PhpMyAdmin was initiated by Tobias Council Chiller and is based on how phpPgAdmin dome of St. Peter Wieser's MySQL - Webadmin from the year 1997. dome Wieser's idea is to realize a web-based application for administration of MySQL was. Tobias Ratschiller began in 1998 with work on a PHP - based web frontend for MySQL. In 2000 he presented his work due to a lack of time.
