The gold tube bamboo ( Phyllostachys aurea, Synonym: Bambusa aurea ) is a bamboo species in the genus Phyllostachys.
Description
The gold bamboo pipe has dense, narrow, erect, pale green to yellow sun straws and 2.5 to 4 meters high. The leaves are light green, 10 cm long and 1-2 cm wide.
Etymology
Phyllostachys is derived from the Greek and means something like: " leafy spike ", a reference to the inflorescence with leaves. aurea [ Latin ] means "golden" and refers to the golden stalks.
Dissemination
The gold tube bamboo comes from subtropical areas in South China.
Use
In China are made from the stalks of walking sticks and fishing, from the rhizomes and knobs for umbrellas.
Use in the garden
The gold tube bamboo is very suitable as a screen or hedge. It is easy to grow and adaptable.
