Pi Recordings

Pi Recordings is a record label for jazz music, based in New York, which was founded in 2001 by Seth Rosner. From 2002, he is supported by Yulun Wan as a partner. On Pi Recordings mainly musicians are published, which are attributed to the Modern Creative Jazz.

The label

The label was founded by Rosner as the then manager of Knitting Factory Works to publish recordings Henry Threadgills. The German jazz magazine Jazz Thing chose the Pi Recordings of Henry Threadgills band zooid ( This Brings Us To, Vol 1), by Steve Lehman Octet ( Travail, Transformation, and Flow ) to the top two best jazz releases of the year 2009.
