Mike Ladd

Mike Ladd ( Michael C. Ladd, * in Boston ) is an American hip hop musician.

Career

Ladd played during his high school days bass and drums in several garage bands and studied English literature at Boston University. He was first known as a poet. His works have appeared in various literary magazines and anthologies as well as the book Swing Low, Black Men Writing, and he was winner of the Nuyorican Poets Café Slam.

His first album, Easy Listening 4 Armageddon was published in 1997 by the label Scratchie. In addition to other albums he released since 2000 under the name Majesticons and Infesticons a trilogy that a fictional hip-hop -War between the forces of evil - has as its object - the mainstream - and goodness - the underground music.

Ladd worked with musicians and bands such as Jackson and his computer band, Company Flow, Saul Williams, Terra Nova, Cannibal Ox, Roots Manuva, Ultra Living, DJ Mehdi, Ken Ishii and Vijay Iyer.
