Piaggio P.150

The Piaggio P.150 was a trainer aircraft of the Italian manufacturer Piaggio Aero Industries.

History and construction

The Piaggio P.150 was constructed on the basis of a request of the Italian Air Force after a new trainer aircraft, which was to replace the North American T -6 as a standard training aircraft. She stood for Fiat G.49, which was later selected, and Macchi MB.323 in competition. The P.150 was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable spur wheel undercarriage and conventional tail unit. Teachers and students sat behind each other under a two-piece canopy. The plane was powered by a Pratt & Whitney Wasp radial engine and later by an Alvis Leonides - engine. Since the P.150 was not selected, she did not go into mass production.
