Piano Concerto No. 1 (Liszt)

Franz Liszt created the first sketches for the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major in 1832. Revised and in the third version known today, it was on February 17, 1855 " Small Hall " of the Weimar castle under the direction of Hector Berlioz and the composer himself premiered as soloists.

The exact name of the work is ( in the first edition in 1857 by Haslinger in Vienna published ): First Concert for piano and orchestra. Henry Litolff appropriated by F. Liszt.

Set names

The sentences merge into each other, only turning point is the transition from the third to the fourth set. A discussion on the three or four movements of the work closes out largely. While going in the first extant version of the concert, the number of cycles of the second and third sets into one another and thus were apparently conceived as a unit. The four-movement version of the basic motif of the first performance in 1855, however, biographical shows and read in brief utterances. Liszt speaks of the 4th movement of the concert from the Allegro marziale, also from the 2nd movement Adagio and Scherzo in E flat minor from the beginning of the triangle.
