Piazzi (crater)

100.15

Piazzi is an impact crater on the westernmost edge of the lunar front side, southeast of the Mare Orientale, and southeast of the crater Lagrange, north of Inghirami.

The crater is heavily shaped and covered by the ejecta of the Mare Orientale, so the crater rim is poorly discernible.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer Giuseppe Piazzi.
