Pier Giacomo Pisoni

Pier Giacomo Pisoni ( born July 8, 1928 in Germignaga ( near Luino ), Italy, † February 8, 1991 in Germignaga, Italy ) was an Italian writer, historian, and archivist paleograph. He devoted his research mainly of medieval local history of Lake Maggiore. He rediscovered and published the until then held for lost, written by Petarcas friend Guglielmo Maramauro Kommertar of the XIV century to Dante's " Divine Comedy " ( " Expositione sopra l' inferno di Dante Alligieri "). He as he wrote and published numerous epigraphs, documents, manuscripts, municipal statutes, letters and old invoice register ( such as the " Liber tabuli Vitaliani Bonromei "). He collected old local folk songs and he has published several articles and books on the history of Lombardy, as well as monographs on the local works of art and historic families.
