Pierre Lagaillarde

Pierre Lagaillarde ( born May 15, 1931 in Courbevoie near Paris ) is a former lawyer, former ( non-party ) Member of the National Assembly of France for the then Department Algeria, nationalist activist against the independence of Algeria and supporters of the status quo of the Department Algeria during the Algerian War ( 1954-1962 ). He was a founding member of the Organisation de l' armée secrète (OAS ).

Biography

Lagaillarde was a lawyer in Blida, Algeria, and like his father, reserve officer of the paratroopers. He completed his military service as an officer in 1957.

In 1957 he took over the presidency of the "General Student Association of Algiers " ( Association générale des étudiants d' Alger ). On November 30, 1958, he was elected member of parliament a constituency of the city of Algiers. Along with Jean -Jacques Susini, and Joseph Ortiz, he was made ​​responsible for the riots in Algiers in 1958, and for the " semaine of the barricades " (Eng. week of the barricades ) of January 1960.

In 1960 he was arrested and spent nine months in La Santé prison in Paris. He was laid off and fled with four other defendants (Jean -Jacques Susini, Jean -Maurice Demarquet, Marcel and Fernand Ronda Féral Lefevre ) to Spain. Because of failure to appear in court in Paris, he was sentenced in absentia in March 1961 to ten years in prison, because of rebellion against the state. On January 20, 1961, he founded in Madrid, along with Jean -Jacques Susini and General Raoul Salan, the OAS.

In Spain Lagaillarde, Joseph Ortiz, as well as the Supreme Argoud and Charles Lacheroy, captured on 7 October 1961, on the instructions of dictator Francisco Franco, as a favor to Charles de Gaulle, together with the Italian right-wing terrorists Guido Giannettini to the Canary Islands into exile spent. On July 18, 1961, the French National Assembly recognized him from all the privileges of a member. After the execution Bastien- Thirys on 11 March 1963, the OAS was de facto at the end.
