Pierre Viette

Pierre Edmond Leon Viette (* June 29, 1921, † 30 April 2011) was a French entomologist.

He visited during the German occupation of France in World War II, the University of Dijon and spent his entire career at the Muséum National d' Histoire Naturelle in Paris. He specialized in the systematics of insects, especially the butterflies. He has published over 400 scientific articles.

1978 Karl Jordan Medal he was awarded.
