Pierre Vimont
Pierre Vimont ( born June 15, 1949) is a French diplomat. He was appointed by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton as Executive Secretary General of the European External Action Service on October 25, 2010. Previously, he was in Washington, DC since 2007, Ambassador of France.
Life
After studying law visited Pierre Vimont, the Institut d' Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris. In 1977 he completed his studies at the École nationale d'administration (ENA ). He then began a diplomatic career at the French Foreign Ministry.
Pierre Vimont has been awarded the French National Order of Merit ( Ordre National du Mérite ).
