The Pietenpol Air Camper is a simple DIY Aircraft by Bernard H. Pietenpol of 1928.

Development

The first Air Camper was built and flown by himself. The goal of Pietenpol was to design an aircraft that you could easily assemble itself and that was very reasonably priced. The Air Camper is made ​​up predominantly of spruce and plywood and was originally equipped with a 40 hp converted Ford Model A car engine. An example is in the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh ( Wisconsin).
