The mountain Pieter Both is named after the first Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies and has a height of 820 meters.

He is one of the most scenic sites in Mauritius. It looks like he balanciere a ball shaped stone on its top. It is said that as long as this stone is up there, it goes Mauritius good. The mountain is clearly visible from many places in the north of Mauritius, especially beautiful named from the botanical garden Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden shortly after the nearby small town of Pamplemousses.
