Pieter Soutman

Pieter Claeszoon Soutman (* 1580 in Haarlem; † August 16, 1657 ) was a Dutch painter and engraver, and draftsman and etcher and publisher.

Life

Soutmann formed with Peter Paul Rubens in Antwerp, after which paintings and drawings he ( da Vinci four hunts, the Miraculous Draught of Fishes, the Lord's Supper by Leonardo ) made ​​a number of etchings, and he also helped in the execution of his pictures. He is from 1624 to 1628 as court painter of King Sigismund III. Wasa have been active in Poland.
