Pieter Vanderlyn

Pieter Vanderlyn (* 1687, † 1778 in Shawangunk ) was an American painter of Dutch origin. He is counted among the Patroon Painters.

Vanderlyn emigrated in 1718 from the Netherlands probably one Curaçao to New York. It is unclear where he was staying, probably in Kingston on the Hudson River, 130 km north of New York, or in Albany.
