Pietro Candido Decembrio

Pier Candido Decembrio ( Petrus Candidus ) (* 1399 in Pavia; ? † November 12, 1477 in Milan ) was a translator and politician in Milan.

Pier Candido Decembrio was the son of Uberto Decembrio and brother of Angelo Camillo Decembrio.

Pier Candido Decembrio was secretary and diplomat of Filippo Maria Visconti (1392-1447), the Duke of Milan. He was referred to as the "president " of the short-lived Ambrosian Republic in Milan ( 1447-1450 ). After 1450 he was exiled and spent some time in Naples at the court of Alfonso V of Aragon and Ferrara. His grave stone lists 127 works, including translations and biographies, including the life of Filippo Maria Visconti and the beast book bestiary.
