Pikmin 3
Pikmin 3 ( Original title:ピクミン3, Pikumin Suri ) is a strategy game for Nintendo's home console Wii U. The game was first announced at the E3 in Los Angeles in 2008 and was mainly developed by Nintendo EAD. It is the third title of the Pikmin series, and the direct successor of Pikmin 2, which originally appeared on the Nintendo Gamecube. Pikmin 3 was released on July 26, 2013 for the Wii U.
Action
The three astronauts Charlie Alph and Brittany are sent because of food shortages from their home planet Koppai to find food. See the planet PNF -404 sufficient food dispenser. Just before landing gets their spaceship, the Drake, out of control and the three astronauts on the planet distributed. The player sees how Alph wakes up on the alien planet and discovered the red Pikmin, which join him soon. In the different worlds fruits are distributed that need to collect it. The game is divided into days, each lasting 13 minutes. The game features 66 fruits to be found, sufficient for 100 game days.
Multiplayer
In Pikmin 3, two different multiplayer modes are available, which can be played by two players each.
Bingo duel
In bingo duel two players try to collect fruits to complete a row on a bingo card. Overall, it has ten playable world maps available. These are generated randomly in part, so why always occur other fruits and opponents in the game.
Mission Mode
In mission mode, there are three different types of challenges available: the fruit picking, defeating creatures and defeating boss enemies in a given time. These missions can also be enabled with time. For each challenge, the player receives a certain number of points and medals. With this he can be compared to an online ranking with other players. This mode is also playable alone.
Reviews
The game was mostly rated as good to excellent. It has drawn attention to the good integration of the Wii U gamepads, as well as on the good implementation of the multi- player mode. One criticism is that there is no online mode. The Official Nintendo Magazine awarded the title a score of 90%.
