Pilosocereus aureispinus

Pilosocereus aureispinus is a flowering plant in the genus Pilosocereus from the cactus family ( Cactaceae ). The specific epithet aureispinus means goldgelbstachelig '.

Description

Pilosocereus aureispinus growing shrubby, branched only at the base and reaches stature heights of up to 2 meters. The smooth, erect, dark green shoots are weakly lignified and have diameters 5-9 centimeters. There are 20 to 24 ribs available. The translucent, sometimes bristle-like spines are rust-colored gold - up. The 8-16 ascending central spines are 0.4 to 1.2 inches long. The 14-16 outstretched spines are 4 to 12 millimeters long. Pilosocereus aureispinus is common in the Brazilian state of Bahia located at altitudes of 450 to 550 meters. The first description as Coleocephalocereus aureispinus was published in 1974 by Albert Frederik Hendrik Buining and Arnold J. Brederoo ( 1917-1999 ). Friedrich Ritter she put 1979 in the genus Pilosocereus.
