Pink Narcissus is an approximately one-hour, American feature film from the year 1971. He tells the homoerotic story of a young man who escapes his everyday life by giving himself narcissistic reveries that it sometimes as a matador in the arena, sometimes as a lover of a Roman emperor and show times in the harem of a sheik.
In the credits is called as a director, producer, cameraman etc. "Anonymous", but today it is known that the film by the American James Bidgood was filmed.
With primitive equipment ( part of which is on 8- mm film shot ) Bidgood generated colorful, poetic images that influenced the work of artists such as Pierre et Gilles with their gay aesthetics.
Pink Narcissus, who is considered a cult film of the gay scene since its birth, has appeared, among others, in the U.S. on DVD.
