Collar Anemonefish (Amphiprion perideraion )

The neck band anemonefish ( Amphiprion perideraion ) lives in the coral reefs of Southeast Asia, New Guinea, Melanesia, Micronesia, from the coast of northern Australia to the Ryukyu Islands. In Bali he lives together with the very closely related white-backed anemonefish ( Amphiprion akallopisos ) and has been found in the same anemone such as this.

Features

The body of the fish is orange. A narrow white horizontal stripes takes place against the gill cover over his head. A white streak starts at the snout and runs along the base of the white dorsal fin to the caudal peduncle. The caudal fin is white. The other fins are transparent. The dorsal fin has nine to ten hard and 16 to 17 soft rays, the anal fin two hard and 12 to 13 soft rays. Amphiprion is perideraion up to 10 inches long. He was bred already in the aquarium.

The fish accept four symbiotic anemone species as partners.
