Pinkeltje

Fingerling ( Dutch: Pinkeltje ), a character from the children's book series of the Dutch author Dick Laan, is a dwarf with a gray ( in the original books: white ) beard and a pointed hat. Although fingerling as large as the little finger of a child's hand is about - what the Dutch name for itself due to nl. pink (Eng. " pinky " ) hinted at, but it is lost in the English translation - belongs not to the fingerling Klabautern. Fingerling understands the language of animals, knows her preferences when food and knows their concerns and needs.

Over the (original) book series, fingerling developed more and more: the early fingerling stories ( mundane usually ) mainly adventure had acted in the Big House, so the focus now was on difficulties in his home country Nowhere ( in the original: Pinkeltjesland ). In the last published fingerling - books, the figure turned into a detective and solves some criminal cases.

Although fingerling normally is always helpful and friendly to everyone, so it never confides in humans, since it towards them is always suspicious; a major exception is Dick Laan itself, the fingerling tells his adventures (which was also processed in the feature film, to see further below). As fingerling once again found in the sac of the Bogeyman, it realized that it can count on the trusted people also Nicholas.

In the weekly Dutch newspaper woman dragonfly small 211 episodes have appeared in which fingerling experienced many adventures with his friends. The accompanying drawings was supplied by the Dutch illustrator Dagmar Stam. In addition to the dragonfly episodes also fingerling read books in which the character is traveling published ( and thereby the country Nowhere leaves ). In these books, which were illustrated by Rein van Looy, learns the (childish) reader also Pünkelchens woman who ( in the original: Pinkelotje, also one of the two main roles in the movie ).
